Video #1 – Europe

Whilst enjoying our time off in Istanbul we’ve had a play around with some of the video footage we’ve taken so far using the camera that was a very kind leaving present from work.  You can see our first attempt at amateur video editing below:

    • Ryan says:

Haha thanks. The beard and hair combo are making the head look even bigger than normal now. I look like a caricature…

    • Rebecca says:

      Hello!

Yeah I did not look, smell or feel too good by the end of it. Although when I did finally wash, my hair was real bouncy and shinny. Cheaper and better than any fancy hair mask!

      • Jo Cook says:

I’ve just watched the vid, playing catch up! And being a typical girl my first thought was how nice your hair looks Bex at the end of the video, haha! And how posh Ryan sounds on it!! xx

  2. Derek Holland says:

Well done Guys and Girls. Awesome video.

  3. Lucy says:

Great video – that rain looks miserable!! Good luck with the next part

    • Ryan says:

Thanks so much for the parcel of treats that arrived! Bex has eaten most of them already though, she’ll be able to roll through Turkey without a bike at this rate…

I don’t remember you sounding that English.

    D says hi 🙂

  6. Mark Davies says:

Hi there hairy! You guys look so smiley on the video – excellent editing! 🙂 No, really, it was a really nice job and really brought it home how much you have achieved….so far.

  7. Rebecca says:

Can everyone please stop encouraging Ryan by being impressed with his beard!? It smells (because his food lives in there) and it itches my face, yet he refuses to trim it. Im going to have to attack the beast with my nail scissors and bic if it gets any bigger!

  8. Nick Welsh says:

    Bec’s,
What you’re doing is amazing but who am I supposed to buddy-up with on the Christmas morning treasure hunt this year?

    • Bex says:

      Hey nick!

I think buffy will be most suitable to take my place as she is likely to keep up our tradition of just running around being over excited.

Hope you have a lovely day, it will be weird not being at home with everyone.

  9. Pete says:

    Becs, Ryan,

Just watched this in hotel in NY…. amazing stuff and it made me miss Ipswich!

Loved the slightly cheesy feel of the video, all you needed in there were some POB style one-liners!

Hope you’re still having a wonderful time, please keep the pics and videos coming, great to hear from you.

    Pete

  10. Teleri says:

Oh my god guys what you have complete so far looks amazing, congratulations! Bex you look hot….which is something that’s not allowed when you’re living out of a tent and not showering everyday!! Ryan….I have to say the beard suits you!

Sending you lots of lkuck for the next part of your tour….from a very snowy Newcastle,

    Love

Congrats to both of you! It’s really cool you guys made it to Istanbul already. Take care and we’ll keep foloowing you online! Cheers from Annika & Max!

  12. Rachel Grayson says:

    Loved the video!!!

I can’t believe you’ve finished Europe already-you’ll be in NZ in no time. You are both hard core!

Really glad you’ve recovered Bex-you’re injury didn’t sound good.

I’m not sure about the beard Ryan-smelly and itchy doesn’t sound good. I thought it was just because you couldn’t carry a razor with you (because of the weight). If there’s an option i would vote clean shaven every time.

Keep up the good work and stay safe. Looking forward to the next video.

    Love, Rach xxx

  13. Ian says:

Lovely to see you over the weekend. it is astonishing how you’ve just eaten up the miles across Europe. This cycling stuff must be a doddle – or you are both most excellent adventurers. Certainly cycling to Istanbul can’t be any more slow, difficult and unpleasant than going with Swiss Air and I’d recommend anyone thinking of going there to choose a bike over them any time. I exaggerate only slightly.

Looking forward very much to seeing how the next section develops. Time to put all the stuff you have learned in your training ride across Europe into practice.

Snow storm just started in Brum – gotta go home!

  14. Claire Smoothy says:

So good to see this, missing you both. Rhino that beard needs to go!!! xxx

  15. Kim says:

Bloody good work guys. Incredibly impressed. What an awesome achievement. Loving the blog and video… never thought you’d kep that up Becs, and since when have you even taken a photo?!
    Best of luck
    Kim x

    • Bex says:

I know! I’m actually taking real photos, and thinking a little about them too. I’m still not keen enough to stop and snap something on a downhill and waste energy breaking to do it, but I am trying. Pleased you are following the blog!!

You would love the adventure Kim, def no flash packing here and we are always hanging with the locals… Just how you like it:-) Reckon you and dave should join us for a leg in the middle east or south east asia!!

      Xxxx
